This is the first movie in the "A Nightmare on Elm Street" series of movies. The main character Nancy Thompson, a teenage girl, is having nightmares about a monster known as Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund). Krueger (as he is refered to on various occasions) is not only invading the dreams of the teenagers of Spingwood, he is also killing them. Nancy learns that Krueger was a child killer acquitted on a technicality, and was burned alive by the angry parents. Through some demonic chain of events he is back and terrorizing the children of the parents that killed him, mostly Nancy and her friends, including her boyfriend, Glen (Johnny Depp in his first role). Nancy learns how to get rid of "Freddy" and succeeds, but not before he kills three of her friends and her mother (Ronee Blakley) through their dreams.
Bodycount: 4 (Tina, Rod, Glenn, Marge)
